Nutritional Guidance

Of all the relationships we develop in this lifetime, the most important and intimate is the one with our own body. It is the home of our psyche and spirit; the physical residence in which we live. It is no secret that our mind can influence the health of our body. However, the opposite is also a fact. Food also has a powerful influence on the stability of our mood, mental clarity and ability to concentrate. Through digestion, food influences the health and chemical balance of your blood, eventually nourishing tissues and regulating blood sugar, cellular functions and the distribution of nutrients. So, its influence extends into all realms of our life.

Eating “good” food is more than simply being quality minded. Ultimately, it’s about balance; the ratios of our complex-carbohydrates to simple-carbohydrates (the sweet ones), and fats and proteins. There is an abundance of information from medical and nutritional resources that support the benefits of a whole food diet, focused on whole grains, beans, vegetables and fruits, with very small optional percentages of animal protein and diary foods.

A quality whole foods diet will help to fortify your nutrition, regulate blood sugar, adjust bowel function, and help your body’s natural detox system. More importantly, it will allow you to develop the sensitivity to know what works, and what doesn’t, for your body. By providing you with a personalized dietary guideline, I can help speed the learning curve so you save time and the stress of trial and error.
